ホーチミン市2日目：ピックルボールと忘れられないバインミーDay Two in Ho Chi Minh City: Pickleball, Learning, and an Unforgettable Bánh Mì

ホーチミン市滞在2日目の前半は、とても充実した時間となりました。

この日は市内中心部から少し離れた、新しい開発が進むエリアにある施設でプライベートレッスンを受けました。この地域には近代的な住宅開発が数多く見られ、歴史ある市中心部とはまた違った雰囲気があります。また、最近アジアPPAツアーが開催されたコートでプレーできたことも大変幸運でした。レッスンの前には、コートに隣接するカフェでアイス抹茶ラテをいただきました。ベトナムの暑さの中で飲む冷たい抹茶ラテは格別で、これから始まるセッションへの良い準備となりました。

レッスンを担当してくれたのは地元の実力派プレーヤーで、パドルメーカー「Facolos」の創設メンバーの一人でもあります。セッションではディンク、サードショット、サーブを重点的に練習しました。非常に有意義な時間となり、水曜日にも再びレッスンを受けようかと考えています。

練習後はホテル近くへ戻り、地元のバインミー店で昼食を取りました。そこで食べたクリスピーポークスキンのバインミーは、この日の大きなハイライトのひとつでした！カリカリとした食感と新鮮な具材の組み合わせが素晴らしく、とても印象に残っています。

午後は友人とピックルボールをする予定です。今のところ、ホーチミン市では素晴らしいピックルボール、美味しい食事、そして温かい人々との出会いを満喫しています。

The first half of my second day in Ho Chi Minh City was both productive and enjoyable.

I was booked for a private pickleball lesson at a facility located outside the city center, in one of the city's newer and rapidly developing districts. The area is home to many modern residential projects and has a very different feel from the historic heart of the city. I was also fortunate to play on the same courts that recently hosted the Asia PPA Tour.　Before the lesson, I stopped by the café next to the courts and enjoyed an excellent iced matcha latte. It was the perfect way to cool down and get ready for the session in the Ho Chi Minh City heat.

My coach was a talented local player who also happens to be one of the founding members of paddle manufacturer Facolos. During the session, we worked extensively on dinks, third shots, and serves. It was an excellent learning experience, and I am already considering another lesson on Wednesday.

After training, I returned to the area near my hotel and stopped for lunch at a local bánh mì shop. There I tried a crispy pork skin bánh mì, and it was easily one of the highlights of the day. The crunch of the pork skin combined with the fresh ingredients created a truly memorable sandwich.

The day is far from over, as I am heading out later this afternoon to play with a friend. So far, Ho Chi Minh City has delivered a wonderful combination of world-class pickleball, fantastic food, and warm hospitality.
