サイゴン最後のバインミー Last Banh Mi in Saigon

今日はベトナムで過ごす最後の丸一日。明日は長い、長い移動が待っています。そんな中、今回のベトナムでのピックルボールの旅は、初日にレッスンを受けたのと同じコーチとのレッスンで締めくくりました。今回もディンク、ドロップショット、そしてバックハンドとフォアハンドのロールを中心に練習しました。今回もいろいろと面白い発見がありました。経験豊富な人から学ぶのはいつでも素晴らしいことで、今回のレッスンも本当に勉強になりました。今日の会場は「Banger」というところ。名前はともかく、僕は「banger」という言葉自体あまり好きではないのですが（笑）、この施設には本当に度肝を抜かれました。ホーチミンでこれまで見た中では、間違いなく最高のピックルボール施設でした。少なくとも20面はあると思いますが、すべて屋内でエアコン完備。施設もとても新しく、フードやドリンクを楽しめるスペースがいくつもあり、トーナメントを観戦できる席や、VIPエリアのようなスペースまでありました。本当に素晴らしい施設で、しかも平日の朝10時だというのに満員。信じられませんでした。ここにはぜひまた戻ってきたいと思います。今回の旅を通してもう一つ学んだのは、ソーシャルプレーをするなら、やはり「どこに行くか」がとても重要だということです。次回はReclubのアプリで適当に場所を選ぶのではなく、コーチにおすすめを聞いてみようと思います。そのほうがきっといい場所に出会えるはずです。それでも、今回の旅の最後を飾るには最高の一日でした。今夜はまだもう少し時間があるので、ゆっくり過ごしたいと思います。明日は長い一日になります。日本には夜遅く、というより金曜日の早朝に到着する予定です。そして日曜日には皆さんにお会いして、今回のベトナムでのいろいろな経験を直接お話しできるのを楽しみにしています。Today was my last full day in Vietnam, with a long, long travel day still ahead of me tomorrow. I ended my pickleball journey with a lesson with the same coach I had on my very first day, again focusing on dinks, drop shots, and both backhand and forehand rolls. There were quite a few interesting discoveries along the way. It’s always great to learn from people with more experience, and the lesson was extremely helpful.Today’s venue was a place called Banger. Although I’m not a fan of the name — and certainly not of bangers — the place itself absolutely blew my mind. It was by far the best pickleball facility I’ve seen here in Ho Chi Minh City. I counted at least 20 courts, all indoors and air-conditioned, and everything looked very new. There were multiple food and beverage facilities, spectator seating for tournaments, and even what looked like a VIP area. It was an amazing facility, and it was packed at 10 a.m. in the morning. Unbelievable. I definitely want to come back here.One thing I’ve also learned during this trip is that, when it comes to social play, you really need to go to the right places. Next time, rather than randomly choosing venues on the Reclub app, I’ll definitely ask the coach for recommendations. I think that could make a big difference. But overall, it was a great way to end my pickleball journey in Vietnam.There’s still one evening ahead, and I’m going to take it very slowly. Tomorrow will be a big day, with a long journey ahead, and I’ll be landing in Japan late at night — or, more accurately, early Friday morning. I’m looking forward to seeing some of you on Sunday and sharing some of my experiences from this wonderful time in Vietnam.
