Our Minor League event is still a little way off, so we’ll introduce some unfamiliar rules in advance. First up: the DreamBreaker!

When women’s doubles, men’s doubles and two mixed doubles games finish in a 2–2 tie, a DreamBreaker decides the winner. It’s singles, but both teams change players every four rallies. All four teammates rotate in a fixed order, carrying the team’s score forward.

It’s rally scoring to 21, win by two, with the winning point earned on serve. Serve from the right when your team’s score is even and the left when it’s odd. Home announces its lineup first, then away chooses its order in response—so men and women can face each other! We’ll try it at our regular practices over the next few weeks!
