渡辺 すみれと共に：武道館セッションと五輪への夢 On court with Watanabe Sumire: the road to Brisbane

昨日の午後は武道館にて、渡辺 すみれさんを迎えてトレーニングを行いました。鎌倉出身の学生であり、元サッカー選手という経歴を持つすみれさん。最近ピックルボールを始めたばかりですが、そのアスリートとしてのセンスは抜群で、すでに素晴らしいスキルとエネルギーを見せています。

ドリルやゲーム形式の練習をみっちり行いましたが、彼女のようなポテンシャルの高い選手が真剣に取り組む姿には、非常に期待が膨みます。ブリスベン五輪まではまだ時間があります。これからさらに実力を磨き、いつか日本代表として五輪の舞台に立つ日を楽しみにしています。学業、そして今後のさらなる飛躍を心から応援しています！

Yesterday afternoon at the Budokan, we held an intense training session with Watanabe Sumire. Originally from Kamakura, Sumire is a young student and former soccer athlete who has recently turned her focus toward pickleball. Even though she is new to the sport, her athletic background is clear—she is already showing fantastic skills and a great deal of energy on the court.

Our session was a mix of drills and games, and it’s exciting to see a player with her potential putting in the work. With the Brisbane Olympics still a few years away, she has the time and the talent to truly sharpen her game. We would love to see her representing Japan in the future and wish her the absolute best in her studies and her career.
