日本でのピックルボール普及を牽引する西村尚也さんとの交流 An evening with Naoya Nishimura , driving Pickleball in Japan

昨日、World Pickleball Magazine の取材で、日本におけるピックルボール普及の中心的存在であり優れたコーチでもある西村直也さんにお話を伺いました。取材後には実際に私たちの練習にも参加してくださり、世界各地 ― コスタリカ、アフリカ、タイなど ― でプレーしながらピックルボールを広めてきたご経験を直接聞くことができました。

その後のプレーでは、西村さんの動きやタイミング、試合への取り組み方を見ているだけでも学ぶことが多く、大変刺激的な時間となりました。コートの雰囲気は熱気に包まれ、参加した全員が最高に盛り上がった一日となりました。

Yesterday, I had the pleasure of interviewing Nishimura Naoya-san for World Pickleball Magazine. He is one of the driving forces behind the growth of Pickleball in Japan and an outstanding coach who is working hard to promote the sport nationwide.

After our conversation, he joined us on court. Hearing his stories of playing and spreading Pickleball in places as diverse as Costa Rica, Africa, and Thailand was truly inspiring. Watching him play was equally eye-opening — there is so much to learn from his movement, timing, and overall approach to the game.

The energy on court was electric, and everyone left the session feeling uplifted and excited. It was a memorable evening for all of us.
